Conference Clinical Trials Supply Chain 2013

Employees of Riga office participated in the annual conference Clinical Trials Supply Chain 2013, which took place in Germany, Berlin, on the 20th and 21st of November, 2013. The conference was organized on high level. Among participants such companies as Allergan, Almac Group, Bausch&Lomb, Bayer Pharma AG, Boehtinger-Ingelheim, GSK, IJS Global, Parexel, Rottapharm, Napp Pharmaceuticals, Takeda Pharma, UCB and others were represented. Main topics of the conference were – cold chain supply management in clinical trials, new GDP influence on participants of the supply chain, development strategies, problems and ways of its solving.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov visited on October, 16-17 the Republic of Latvia with a state visit on the invitation of President Andris Berzins.
The visit’s major events were due October 17.
During the negotiations, the heads of our two states discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral relations and examined the major dimensions of cooperation in political, financial and economic, cultural and humanitarian areas. The two leaders exchanged views also on current issues of regional and international affairs.
It was stressed that Uzbekistan and Latvia are important reliable partners for one another and that the two nations maintain enduring, traditionally robust, close and friendly ties instrumental for prolific interaction.
During the talks, the two parties covered interaction issues in combating terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking and in search for meaningful answers to other contemporary threats and challenges. The two parties underlined the similarity and closeness of their perspectives and stances on all the issues under discussion.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Latvia concentrated their attention on issues of trade-economic, investment and humanitarian cooperation. Latvia is one of Uzbekistan’s chief trade partners in the European Union. Investment cooperation has been expanding, as well. To date, 22 enterprises with Latvian investments are operating in Uzbekistan, while more than 40 entities have been opened in Latvia with the involvement of Uzbek companies.
As it was underscored, Uzbekistan and Latvia wield a remarkable potential in the economic sphere. The two sides addressed issues related to the even more effective use of the capacities of our two countries. Also stressed was the significance of bolstering bilateral interaction in such an important sector as transport and communications.
A business forum took place in Riga as part of the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan. It served as a platform to discuss opportunities for joint business in Latvia and Uzbekistan, new aspects of cooperation, development of logistics industry in Latvia in the interests of Uzbekistan.
The outcomes of the visit will indisputably afford a new impetus to the advancement of relations between our two countries and elevate them to a qualitatively new level.

Latvian-Uzbek business forum

On October 15th, 2013 representatives of Astra Logistic Ltd. company visited the Latvian-Uzbek business forum. Among the participants of the business forum there were representatives of both Latvian and Uzbek business, of the state structures, the ministries. Questions of cooperation and prospect of development of business were discussed. Within the Forum round tables devoted to different topics were held which allowed to have bilateral business negotiations.

 

 

Seminars devoted to the new GDP rules in the EU

New GDP rules came into force starting from September 8, 2013 on the territory of Latvia and the EU. Astra Logistic Ltd. organized and held two seminars, on September, 25 and 26, on a subject "Laba zāļu izplatīšanas prakse (GDP), prasību izmaiņas un to realizēšana loģistikas pakalpojumu sniegšana". During two days the seminar was visited by more than 60 people – representatives of the pharmaceutical companies, logistic companies, wholesalers of pharmaceuticals and others.

 

 

First international Forum “Thermo labile medicines and products – appropriate practices today and tomorrow”

First international Forum “Thermo labile medicines and products – appropriate practices today and tomorrow”, which was organized by non-commercial Partnership “Cold chains and biotechnologies”, took place in Moscow on the 17th and 18th of September, 2013. More than 100 representatives of Russian and foreign pharma producers, drugstore nets, associations of pharma producers, suppliers of equipment and services for pharma, and representatives of health officials participated in the Forum. The first day of the Forum was devoted to issues of appropriate practices in handling thermo labile medicines and products. The second day of the Forum was devoted to issues connected with modernization of pharmaceutical industry in Russia: ensuring quality as the basic element of development. 4 employees of «Astra Logistic Ltd.” participated in the Forum, representative of Riga office made a report on the topic: „Successful European experience in solving problems in the cold chain supply of pharmaceuticals”.

 

                

 

 

Participation in the meeting of the Latvian businessmen with the Latvian President Mr.A.Berzinsh and representatives of Government devoted to the results of the official visits to Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, House of the Blackheads, Riga, Latvia, 20th of June, 2013

Following the official visits of the President of Latvia Mr.A.Berzinsh to Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan the official meeting with the businessmen, devoted to the results of these visits has been organised. Chairman of the Board of Astra Logistic Ltd. Mrs.Ilona Anna Kuznecova was opening the event and made the speech concerning the organisation of the cool chain supply to Turkmenistan and the modernisation of the local supply structure in the country.

SIA participated in the Turkmenian – Latvian business forum that has been organised for the representatives of the business circles of Latvia and Turkmenistan. 12th annual conference LogiPharma 2013

From the 23rd to 26th of April, 2013, «Astra Logistic Ltd.» participated in the 12th annual conference LogiPharma 2013 as a sponsor, speaker and delegate. The conference took place in Hôtel Président Wilson, in Geneva, Switzerland. Around 400 representatives of pharmaceutical companies, distributors, suppliers of equipment and services for pharmalogistics, logistics companies participated in the conference. 3rd annual Pharmaceutical Logistics and Cold Chain 2013

On the 9th and 10th of April, «Astra Logistic Ltd.» participated in the 3rd annual conference Pharmaceutical Logistics and Cold Chain 2013. The conference took place in Hilton Vienna am Stadtpark, in Vienna, Austria. The conference was organized on rather high level and united most prominent participants of pharmaceutical market and international logistics sector. In the frames of the official visit of the President of Latvia Mr.A.Berzinsh to Ukraine, Astra Logistic Ltd. SIA participated in the business forum that has been organised for the representatives of the business circles of Latvia and Ukraine. The Forum took part in Kiev in the Ukraininan Chamber of Commerce and it has been patronised by the President of Ukraine Mr.V.Yanukovitch, Director of the Latvian Agency of Investments and Development, the President of thу Chamber of Commerce of Ukraine and many other officials and the leading businessmen of both countries. Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs and Compliance in Russia 2013

On the 4th and 5th February, 2013 in Moscow, Russia, company "Astra Logistic Ltd." participated as speaker and participant in the 1st international conference Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs and Compliance in Russia.
